Mess
Oil on linen. 200 x 180 cm
Part of the series “Chasing control creating chaos”. A void without end, a surrealistic view of the familiar and at the same time shapes of the unknown, the mind gets encouraged to rest and the body flows freely. Where the sculptural, distorted elements come to life in formations that seams familiar yet difficult to comprehend. A sense of chasing control and trying to capture eloping thoughts only leading to chaos as some things are beyond taking orders. Glitch, error, mishap. A paradox where the greatest freedom leads us into a dystopian reality. To see the beauty in nature and dare to let go and float along.
In terms of expression, a mix of the raw impulsive with the classically beautiful, moving between the abstract, real and surreal. A slight resemblance of how the artists mind works.. Paint, scrapes and splatters on linen, applying layers of oil paint to create dynamism and depth mixed with chalk and charcoal pencil.
