Nina Rimér

Contemporary artist, creating large scale oil paintings on linen. Born in 2003, self-taught and have, among other things, participated in international Art Lab together with influential artists from different parts of the world.

Nina utilizes the creative freedom with both motifs and mediums leaving the art to be a reflection of the blurred border and interim of realism and surrealism. The work comes from a sense of connection to the subconscious. Familiar natural organic shapes and materials in unusual forms are alluring. The paintings tend to take their own courses. Beginning with an idea but leaving room for the paintings to connect, fall into place and make sense in their own way reaching something chaotic yet calm and harmonic.

The work often drifts from beauty to bizarre. Fine detail in some parts and  some brushstrokes left disconnected, abstract and unfinished. The image should not give away all information within the first second of observing it, it should have the capacity to make the observer take time to comprehend and fathom what meets the eye..
